Hand-knotted : Hand-knotted carpets are made by hand on a specialized loom. The process of making a hand-knotted rug is a meticulous affair. The method requires a skilled weaver to tie knots to vertical threads on a specially designed loom. These are then cut and retied again to ensure excellent durability. This time-consuming technique results in one-of-a-kind patterns and exceptional colour combinations and is a beautiful example of human craftsmanship.
Hand-tufted : Hand tufted carpets are made by using a tool called a tufting gun to speed up the production process. The artisan starts the process by inserting strands of material into a design imprinted canvas which is stretched on a frame . In addition the inserted strands are glued to the canvas to ensure better durability. After the canvas has been completely piled with material, it is removed from the frame, a fringe is attached when desired and a lining is added to complete the carpet. Whereas hand-tufted carpets take much less time to produce than hand-knotted carpets and are therefore budget friendlier, they still offer high quality, craftsmanship and freedom of design.
Hand woven : Handwoven rugs are created similar to fabrics. On a loom, the horizontal warp strand is interlocked with the vertical weft strand, creating a durable, mostly thin rug without pile. Usually hand woven rugs can be turned over as they are double-sided.
Hide : Hide carpets are made of the real leather and fur. They either represent the original pattern, size and colouring of the hide or can be made of died, embossed, or patchwork elements in order to achieve fancy designs.
